This is a red ale that will kick your ass if not prepared. It just seems to break all the rules while simultaneously still being a Red ale. The color is right, the ABV still fine though just within the usual style perimeters the IBU takes a hard turn. Standard red ales are generally only pronounced in bitterness with 25-40 IBUs. This is not a traditional Red ale. This is a red ale that is at the Heart of Darkness*.
