This is not a beer. However, Though it is not a beer, it is damn good for whatever it is. Also, if you ever told me that I would drink a hot beer, not warm mind you. Hot like tea. I would have probably punched you in the face. Of course, you would be correct. Maybe? This is not something for the stuck up beer snobs. So if you are on stay away. For those looking for something interesting to try and needing to warm yourself up on a cold Hanoi day, this is something to venture at. Just go into this not expecting a beer. It looks more like a drink you would enjoy on Christmas morning with you parents with the cinnamon stick and star anise as well the little cookies that pair so delectably with the drink. The base it based on a traditional spiced ale and if you truly absorb the flavor, there is a hint of the beer from whence it comes. The drink does feel a little weak for someone like me which you are in luck with of course as it has the option of adding a shot of Whiskey to take things up a notch. So if you are down at Furbrew and need a breather and a hot shot, this is something worth trying.
