This beer celebrating the new year with its almost spicy flavor which gives it a holiday feel. You definitely get the flavor from the caramelized kumquat and a bit of the spiciness of the cinnamon. It's the kind of spiced beer you would see as a holiday ale which makes sense with the star anis and cinnamon, but with the inclusion of an Asian flare with the kumquat.
