Slight earthy aroma with a meaty flavor. A solid beer that gives you that earthy herbal flavor and aroma to it. The bitterness feels a little low for a ESB and while English expats may get excited for something reminiscent of home it just might not hit the mark for them. Otherwise it is still an enjoyable bitter beer that still manages to differentiate itself form an mercian style bitter beer.
